Syzygy IFS-Informed EMDR™ Certification recognizes clinicians who have demonstrated advanced knowledge, clinical skill, and thoughtful integration of Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, Memory Reconsolidation, and Coherence Therapy. It reflects a commitment to excellence through rigorous study, consultation, supervised clinical experience, and ongoing professional development.

REQUIREMENTS:
IFS-Informed EMDR Certified Therapist™ (IIE-CT™)
The IIE-CT™ designation recognizes clinicians who have demonstrated advanced competency in the Syzygy Model™ through specialized training, consultation, and clinical experience in the integration of Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and principles of Memory Reconsolidation.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Current EMDRIA Certified Therapist™ (or international equivalent)
Successful completion of Syzygy Step 2: IFS-Informed EMDR and Step 3: Discovery & Beyond
20 hours of IFS-Informed EMDR consultation with a Syzygy IIE Approved Consultant™ (IIE-AC™) following Step 2 (minimum 10 individual hours; maximum 10 group hours)
Attestation of 100 clinical hours providing IFS-Informed EMDR after Step 2
A Verification & Recommendation Form completed by your Syzygy IIE Approved Consultant™ (IIE-AC™)
Initial Certification Fee: $200
Certification Term: Two years
IFS-Informed EMDR Approved Consultant™ (IIE-AC™)
The IIE-AC™ designation recognizes experienced clinicians who have demonstrated advanced competency in the Syzygy Model™ through rigorous training, consultation, advanced clinical experience, and additional qualifications to provide consultation, mentorship, and leadership within the Syzygy community.
Applicants may apply directly for IIE-AC™ or upgrade from an existing IIE Certified Therapist™ (IIE-CT™) designation. Approved Consultants automatically retain the IIE-CT™ designation.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Has met requirements for IIE-CT*
2. Syzygy Training Component: Guided at least one time each for Syzygy Step Two & Three (must have attended all staff meetings during these)
3. Coherence Therapy Component: 12 CE of Coherence Therapy/Memory Reconsolidation workshops (prior approval by Syzygy CE Director required unless from coherencetherapy.org or therapywisdom.com)
4. IFS Component: any one of the following options
IFS Institute Level One Training
Completed Syzygy Step One plus 20 hours of IFS-only Consultation with an IIE-AC, or IFS-I Approved Clinical Consultant*
Repeated Syzygy Step One three times as a participant, repeat participant or Guide. This option must include a Syzygy Trainer Recommendation.*
5. Consultation Experience Component: any one of the following options
EMDR Approved Consultant
IFS Approved Clinical Consultant
other Clinical Consultation Qualification approved by Syzygy CE Director
Syzygy Guide 10 times
Completion of 20 IIE-CIT hours with an IIE-AC (this option must include a Syzygy Trainer Recommendation).*
A Verification & Recommendation Form completed by your Syzygy IIE Approved Consultant™ (IIE-AC™).
Initial Certification Fee: $200
Upgrade Fee (IIE-CT™ to IIE-AC™): $100

Before You Begin
Please have any applicable supporting documentation ready to upload, such as:
EMDR and/or IFS credentials
Syzygy workshop completion certificates
Consultation verification
Coherence Therapy training documentation
Guide or teaching documentation (if applicable)
Verification & Recommendation Form (if applicable)
Renewal continuing education documentation (for renewals)
Payment is completed at the end of the application. See specific requirements for each Certification.
You may apply for IIE Approved Consultant™ directly without applying to be IIE Certified Therapist™ if you meet all the qualifications for both. If approved, you then hold both designations.

Certification Renewal
Certification is valid for two years.
Renewal requires:
Documentation of 12 hours of approved IFS-Informed EMDR-related continuing education completed during the current certification period.
Submission of the current renewal application.
Payment of the renewal fee.
Qualifying activities include Syzygy Institute workshops, approved consultation, Guide service, selected IFS Institute training, approved Coherence Therapy training, and other approved continuing education. Recertification will require 12 hours of some combination of these items during your current active two-year certification period:
IFS-Informed EMDR related courses at emdrifs.com.
IFS-Informed EMDR courses from other providers pre-approved by Syzygy CE Director (examples: Kendahl Hart, Daphne Fatter, Stacy Ruse, Susan Brown, Crystal Hines, Beau Laviolette).
Coherence Therapy courses at coherencetherapy.org.
Coherence Therapy / Memory Reconsolidation courses from other providers pre-approved by Syzygy CE Director
Completing or being a PA for anIFS Level One, Two, or Three Training
Serving as a Program Guide for a Syzygy Institute course
IFS-Informed EMDR Consultation from a Syzygy IIE Approved Consultant (IIE-AC)™
Up to 6 hours of IFS-Institute approved CE that are not Level 1,2 or 3.
Certification Upgrade
from IIE-CT™ to IIE-AC™
A certification upgrade for $100 is available when you qualify for IIE Approved Consultant™ before your current IIE Certified Therapist™ renewal date. It includes a renewal, extending your new certification for a two-year period, saving $50. If approved as Approved Consultant, you would then be recognized as both IIE Certified Therapist™ and IIE Approved Consultant™.
